Nov22Arabian Nights
Presented by Fairgame Theatre
Performance date and time Tuesday, 22nd November 2011 7:00 PM
Venue: Heanor Baptist Church
Enter another world with tinkling sounds of Eastern music, billowing richly
embroidered fabrics, scents of delicious spices hanging in the air and the
tempting taste of Turkish Delight.
A cast of four actors will weave lively action and enchanting live music
around the story of our beautiful heroine, Scheherazade, who needs to tell a
new story every night to save her from execution. You'll know the familiar
ones - 'Aladdin', 'Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves' and 'Sinbad', but with
1001 to choose from, watch out for some surprises!
This delightful show will whisk you away to an exotic land with genies,
flying carpets, magic lamps and mystery. Let the warmth and magic of ancient
Arabia banish those winter blues.
Arabian Nights is a high quality show for all the family and something all
generations can enjoy together.
"A very enjoyable evening…there was a standing ovation at the end of the

Dec02Men in General
Presented by Men in General
Performance date and time Friday, 2nd December 2011 7:30 PM
Venue: Heanor Baptist Church
In this show five ordinary guys, separated at birth, talk and sing à
cappella: Marvin Gaye, Joe Jackson, Coope Boyes & Simpson, Rodgers &
Hammerstein, Stephen Stills, Billy Joel, The Beach Boys, The Spooky Men’s
Chorale, a song about Elvis by poet Brian Patten and other top compositions.
They are a singing barometer of blokedom, a Beaufort Scale of wind and
torment, with interesting perspectives on topical issues such as the green
debate and transition strategies. There'll be tonnes of witty banter as
these guys love to clown around and adopt comical characters between songs.
Some of you will recognise their faces from The Singing Sous’Chefs (Jim
Howden, Adrian Mealing and Will Tooby) and in their latest adventures
they’re eloping with two of The Murphy Brothers (Will Coleman and Tim
Cranmore).
It is a seriously entertaining, highly original show with plenty of
interactive flights of fancy. And they hope that by the end of it we might
all understand men a lot better… now that's a tall order!
"A cross between Monty Python and a Barber Shop Quartet…I haven't seen my
husband laugh like that in ages" - Audience comments
