Careers Advice: Helpful advice on careers and learning

ContinYou: CEDC and Education Extra joined forces in 2003 and work to promote community-based learning. They initiate and deliver programmes that encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to take up opportunities for learning.

 

Derby College: formed by the merger of Derby Tertiary College: Wilmorton, Mackworth College: Derby and Broomfield College. The new College has three main locations as well as numerous outreach centres in and around Derby and offers over 1,000 courses.

Department for Education and Skills: aims to create opportunity, release potential and improve learning and skills for all.

Derbyshire Learning and Development Consortium: The aim of the website is to provide our members with the most up-to-date information on funding opportunities, quality issues, resources, sector job vacancies, progression opportunities, training and events and much more.

Learning & Skills Council : The LSC exists to make England better skilled and more competitive. They have a single goal: to improve the skills of England's young people and adults to make sure we have a workforce that is of world-class standards.

LifeLong Learning : Supported by the Access to Learning for Adults Division of the Department for Education and Skills to .encourage, promote and develop lifelong learning.

 

National Open College Network (NOCN) : the UK's foremost provider of accreditation services for adult learning. NOCN is a recognised national qualification awarding body and is the central organisation for 28 Open College Networks (OCNs) based across the UK.

New Deal : part of the website of the Department for Work and Pensions, aiming to help unemployed people into work by closing the gap between the skills employers want and the skills people can offer.

South East Derbyshire College : The largest local provider of post-16 education who aim to provide a world of education and training opportunities on the doorstep.

Pro Bono Group : LawWorks for Community Groups is a project run by the Solicitors Pro Bono Group providing pro bono, free, legal advice to community groups through a network of volunteer lawyers.
