Amber Valley CVS Befriending Service
The aim of the service is to provide companionship and support for people who are socially isolated.
We can provide a FREE Befriending service for people aged 50 and over, providing a volunteer to visit once a week in your own home to provide some companionship.
Referrals can be made by a professional who is involved in your care, e.g care worker, doctor, social worker or family member.
Once you have joined the scheme, we will assign a volunteer who will support you by visiting you once a week in your own home.
The Amber Valley Centre for Voluntary Service, through a team of volunteers, who are trained and fully supervised will provide the FREE Befriending service. This is a flexible support service which will compliment the support being given by your family or Social Services.
This service does not replace any statutory health or social service care you are entitled to, but rather it should help, assist and enhance your overall wellbeing.
