GuideStar UK is an independent charity whose aim is to promote the UK's
voluntary and community sector by creating a comprehensive and readily
available source of information about its activities. Guidestar UK is
building a website through which the public will have free access to a
database of high quality information on UK charities. Go to the website to
find out if it might be useful to your group.

In Kind Direct distributes mainly newly manufactured surplus goods—such as
office equipment, household goods, toys and clothing—to charities. There is
an annual registration fee and groups will receive a monthly lists of
available goods. In Kind Direct has received funding from EMDA to work with
voluntary organisations in the East Midlands. This means groups can join the
network for £30 plus VAT and will also receive £75 of vouchers, exchangeable
for quality new goods from the monthly catalogue.

for change, both for those who volunteer and for the wider community. The
website offers a range of resources for anyone who works with or manages
volunteers as well as to those who want to volunteer. It also includes
